With two major dealer announcements since the first of the year, Statesville-based Kewaunee Scientific has positioned itself for strong sales growth in 2012. On January 16th, the laboratory and technical furniture manufacturer announced a significant business expansion with ISEC, Inc., one of the largest interior specialty contractors in the United States. In addition to its current sales territory, which includes Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and portions of Wyoming and New Mexico, ISEC will now also represent Kewaunee’s product line in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, Alaska, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. “Since joining the Kewaunee dealer team in May 2011, ISEC has proven itself to be an extremely valuable partner in supporting our products and strategic growth objectives,” said William A. Shumaker, Kewaunee’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The ISEC organization continues to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the relationship. When combined with ISEC’s project turn-key capabilities, strong financial position, and bonding capacity, we are confident our expanded relationship will strengthen Kewaunee’s competitive position.”
Kewaunee followed this announcement up on January 18th with the addition of Nycom, Inc. to its domestic sales network. Nycom is one of the largest laboratory furniture sales and distribution companies in the United States. They will represent Kewaunee in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina,Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and western Pennsylvania. “We are extremely delighted to have Nycom join the Kewaunee dealer team,” said William A. The announcements reflect Kewaunee’s aggressive growth strategy, building on the $13 million plant expansion the company announced in 2010.
